The SphereFlash is a computer-controlled device for accurate and fast counting of colonies of microbiological samples spread with an automatic plate, plate casting, or other traditional methods. Place the petri dish under the device's color camera. By pressing the only control on the device - a push button - the device closes the space holding the petri dish and illuminates the petri dish with the LEDs inside the moving cylinder.

This method excludes external lights and provides reflection-free lighting for the plants. Thanks to this, the result will be more accurate than "traditional". Anti-reflection lighting results in a much clearer and sharper image (see images). IUL has patented this illumination method.

At the same time as the lighting, the evaluation takes place immediately. The lighting is provided by a light ring consisting of a row of strong, white LEDs. The background of the petri dish can also be illuminated or dark. In the case of counting different colonies, we can rule out incorrect evaluation by applying color filters and setting the parameters specific to the colonies. Colonies can also be easily counted on opal medium. The data of the color filter, the batch number and the sample number can be stored in the database in the future.

A reliable evaluation can also be carried out with the software that comes with the device. The optional Colonies PRO software allows you to select various calculation and imaging needs. With the also optional Halos PRO software, the device can also be made suitable for measuring the diameter of the extinguishing ring.

An external computer is required to use the device! This is not included with the colony counter, but we can also deliver it on request.
