A device suitable for quick and accurate sampling of air - for microbiological purposes - in food manufacturing plants, hospitals, or other institutions. The essence of the method: air is sucked into the petri dish filled with nutrient medium through a perforated plate with the help of a properly designed fan. The perforated plate has a dual purpose; a relatively strong air flow should be created through the holes, and the air should be distributed over as large a surface as possible of the cup.
The most important feature of the operation of the SPIN AIR type sampler is that the Petri dish rotates in the sampling device, thus almost the entire surface of the culture medium can be used. Another significant advantage of rotation is that the number of impacts to the same point is significantly reduced (it is unlikely that the impact will occur at the same point where there is already a sample on the culture medium). The technical solution of the "rotated petri dish" is a patent of the IUL.
The SPIN AIR air sampler is a microprocessor device that, thanks to modern electronics, provides several services that were not available until now. For example: the rotation speed can be changed, sampling data can be stored, direct connection to a PC or printer, delayed start, connection to a Bar-code reader, field use is also possible (network-independent).
Depending on the suction head, the device can be operated with petri dishes with a diameter of 60 or 90 mm and with any nutrient medium. The device can be programmed for the amount of air taken in. For 90 mm petri dishes, this is 100 liters per minute, while for 60 mm dishes, it is 60 liters per minute.
Total intake air: can be 0-9,900 liters.
The "master" device is a so-called You can also control a "slave" sampler, so that two samples can be taken at the same time for different culture media.
The sampler has its own small stand, so it can be used in a position other than horizontal (0-90°). It can also be operated on a higher stand (tripod) if required.
The carrying case makes transporting the sampler to the field convenient.
