The special impregnated coating of the phase-separating papers makes it possible to easily separate water-immiscible organic solvents from water. This filter paper does not allow water to pass through, but it is heavier than water or lighter solvents flow through it unhindered.
With this paper, it is possible to carry out the separation in a shorter time than with the extractions in the shaker funnel used until now.
