The PM 100 and PM 200 type ball mill achieves the extremely fine grain size of the ground material by means of special rubbing and crushing, and planetary motion. This movement is intense, fast and very efficient, energy savings of up to 50% can be achieved compared to traditional ball mills.
The material of the balls and grinding bowls must be chosen for the hardness and specific gravity of the sample. The size (diameter) of the grinding balls is determined by the volume of the grinding vessel and the particle size of the sample.
Type PM 100: a device with a grinding unit for larger volumes (220 ml), but can be converted into two containers for smaller sample volumes (2x20 ml) with a separately ordered adapter.
Type PM 200: device with two grinding units for small sample volumes. The design of both devices is identical, apart from the shaker pads. Their external appearance and control unit are the same as the PM 100 CM centrifugal ball mill (see above).
