The new generation of automatic melting point meters from SRS provides previously unimaginable services. The device, built on the basis described at EZ-Melt, is controlled by the built-in large (5.8”) touch screen.

During the measurement, the device automatically calculates 3 characteristic temperatures per capillary, and the data of 8 complete melting cycles can be recorded manually. Changes in the state of the samples can also be monitored graphically on the device's display. 24 programs can be stored in OptiMelt's memory, but the results of 8 measurements can also be saved here. Measurement results and graphs can be printed directly with an optional printer that can be connected to the device's RS-232 port.

OptiMelt melting point meters can be ordered in two versions: computer-free (stand-alone) and computer-supported version (the computer is not part of the device). With the latter, a computer (Laptop) can also be used to store and display the measurement results. The computer can be connected to the base device via a USB port. The data stored with the computer can be viewed as a movie, on a video file, using the supplied MeltView software (see Figures 1, 2 and 3). Recordings can also be saved as individual images for use in other programs. The devices meet the requirements of GLP and pharmacopoeias.
