KEMFIRE® safety cabinets are special chemical storage systems that enable the separate, safe storage of chemicals, acids and alkalis, as well as flammable liquids and solids. The cabinet sections designed for different risk categories are located in a common, monolithic structure. This is particularly advantageous in laboratories where the available floor space is limited.
Available in various sizes, capacities and designs. Depending on the configuration, the cabinets are designed with doors or drawers.
The compartments designed for flammable materials have a TYPE 90 fire resistance, which means a 90-minute fire resistance category according to EN 14470-1. In addition, the cabinet is compliant with EN 14470-1, EN 61010-1, EN 16121 and EN 16122, and is TÜV certified.
The fire protection design includes several safety elements:
Automatically closing safety door when exposed to heat,
Intumescent seals that inflate in the event of fire,
Automatically closing ventilation safety valves,
Sparkproof hinges,
Lower collection tray for collecting spilled liquids,
Perforated shelves designed as trays,
Corrosion resistance and spill management are also important aspects when designing the chemical compartment. The cabinets are made with an acid-resistant epoxy powder coating, and the internal surfaces are designed to resist corrosive substances.
The chemical compartment can be equipped with a motorized exhaust in some models to remove toxic or harmful vapors.
